Strawberry Puff Pastry Hearts

Henrik Andersson

Delicate, flaky puff pastry layered with sweet whipped cream and fresh strawberries—an irresistible treat for Valentine’s Day or any special moment.

Ingredients

1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed and ready to use

1 egg, lightly beaten for a golden egg wash

1 cup heavy cream, whipped with 2 tablespoons powdered sugar for sweetened cream

1 cup fresh strawberries, thinly sliced for a fruity burst

Powdered sugar, for a light dusting

Chocolate sauce, for drizzling decadence

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Line a cookie tray with parchment paper to prevent sticking.

Step 2: Prepare the Puff Pastry

Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface.

Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out as many hearts as possible.

Arrange the hearts on the prepared cookie tray, leaving a bit of space between them.

Lightly brush the tops of the pastry hearts with the beaten egg for a glossy, golden finish.

Step 3: Bake the Pastry Hearts

Bake the puff pastry hearts for 9–10 minutes, or until they are puffed and golden brown.

Remove from the oven and allow them to cool completely on a wire rack.

Step 4: Assemble the Hearts

Using a serrated knife, carefully slice each pastry heart in half horizontally.

Pipe or spread a layer of whipped cream onto the base of each heart.

Arrange a layer of sliced strawberries on top of the cream.

Add another layer of whipped cream over the strawberries, then gently place the top half of the pastry heart back on to form a sandwich.

Step 5: Garnish

Dust the assembled puff pastry hearts with powdered sugar for a snowy finish.

Drizzle chocolate sauce over the tops for an extra layer of indulgence.

Step 6: Serve

Serve the Strawberry Puff Pastry Hearts immediately to enjoy their freshest and flakiest texture.
