Bacon, Onion & Tomato Savory Pie

Henrik Andersson

Ingredients:

1 pie crust (store-bought or homemade)

6 slices crispy bacon, crumbled

1 medium onion, thinly sliced

2 ripe tomatoes, sliced

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup mayonnaise 🍽️

1/4 cup Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon dried oregano

Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions:

Preheat the oven:

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the pie crust in a pie dish and set it aside.

Cook the bacon:

Fry the bacon slices in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Crumble the cooked bacon into small pieces and set aside.

Sauté the onions:

In the same skillet, sauté the sliced onions until golden and softened, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat.

Assemble the pie:

Layer the crumbled bacon, sautéed onions, and sliced tomatoes in the pie crust. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the top.

Prepare the creamy topping:

In a small bowl, mix the mayonnaise, grated Parmesan cheese, oregano, salt, and pepper. Spread this creamy mixture over the top of the pie.

Bake the pie:

Bake the pie in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and melted.

Let cool and serve:

Once baked, let the pie cool for a few minutes. Slice, serve, and enjoy the delicious combination of bacon, onions, and tomatoes in every bite!
